Codified Petulance (a.k.a. The US Senate)
The 60-vote requirement for a cloture vote and the filibuster allowance, as we know them both today, have made the Senate into anything BUT the "greatest deliberative body in the world." Rather, these two devices have been used by right-wing politicians like a petulant child's temper tamtrum to stop legislation they personally don't like, the rest of the country be damned. There are 39 Republican senators -- scum -- supporting a filibuster on health care reform, NOT for more debate on it but to kill it. They only need two more ghoulish senators to agree with them and effectively kill tens of thousands of sick people who need medical help but can't afford it. These senators deserve a special place in hell. They are evil cowards who don't even have the guts to publicly register their No vote on actual legislation, and don't have the intellectual courage to back up any of their bullshit arguments against health care reform with actual facts. They have no grounds. They have no right.
