Okay, let me say firstly this post was initiated mainly as an excuse for me to not have to look at the "Palin = The New KKK" post on my iGoogle home page, since it'll get bumped down out of sight. Hooray! Palin is indeed history.
That said, I find the idea of endowing financially troubled newspapers a really good solution to the potential loss of a lot of good information. The thought of a world with no New York Times is abhorrent to me.
