Go Suck It, NY Times!

This from this morning's nytimes.com:

Even at the End, Ken Lay Didn't Get It
By JOE NOCERA
The tragedy of the former Enron chairman is that he never fully understood what he'd done wrong.

Yeah, ok, and I'm Jesus. No, Joe, it's you who don't fully understand how fucked up the above caption is, and how you could think this douchebag didn't know what he was doing at the time that he did it. Ken Lay is among the most awful men on the planet, and the real tragedy, Joe, is that your newspaper continues to apologize for the awful and powerful. And the Times gets labeled 'liberal' to boot. THAT'S the tragedy, Joe.

I have no doubt Ken Lay got careless in his crimes of stealing thousands of employees' 401(k) planes, and he did not apparently cover up those crimes as completely as he would have liked. Yes, this did eventually do him in. What I'm saying is that someone who sells his shares of artificially high stock in a fraudulently profitable company JUST before it goes belly up, making countless tens of millions for himself while thousands go broke, knows EXACTLY what he is doing. And for the New York Times to basically curry sympathy for this man, saying he 'never fully understood what he did wrong,' is outrageous and callous. The powerful don't need psychological evaluations written about them when they steal, they need condemnation and scorn, and a press more willing to call them out for their crimes while reminding our politicians that we need more governmental regulation. To connect the dots between these corporate criminals and the politicians who get money from them, i.e. Bush and his crime syndicate.
